The Price We Pay

Last month we shook a bit more than usual, stood in doorways, and refilled our water barrels. Today, ash is everywhere. It's hard to breath, your eyes water, the wind is howling, and the sky is bright orange. But on a positive note, in Southern California the weather is usually such that you can wear shorts or a sweatshirt on the very same day, be in the mountains or at the beach within 45 minutes, and on a clear day (once or twice a year) you can see forever.
