Did your kids like National Treasure?

Then they’ll love this interactive book series, The 39 Clues. You’ll love this book series! I had such a ball reading it. There will be 10 books in the series, each one written by a different noted children/young adult author. Rick Riordan (best known for his bestselling series Percy Jackson and the Olympians) penned volume 1, “The Maze of Bones.”

Minutes before she died Grace Cahill changed her will, leaving her descendants an impossible decision: "You have a choice - one million dollars or a clue."Grace is the last matriarch of the Cahills, the world's most powerful family. Everyone from Napoleon to Houdini is related to the Cahills, yet the source of the family power is lost. 39 Clues hidden around the world will reveal the family's secret, but no one has been able to assemble them. Now the clues race is on, and young Amy and Dan must decide what's important: hunting clues or uncovering what REALLY happened to their parents.

Along with the books, there will be over 355 evidence or clue cards that you can collect or trade, and an online game where the readers play a part in the story (and compete for over $100,000 in prizes!). The 39 Clues books set the story, and the cards, website and game allow kids to participate in it. I highly recommend it, no matter what your age.

The second book, One False Note, will be available on December 2nd. Each book comes with 6 cards, but there are separate card packs available.

About the cards: Harry Houdini. A poison injector ring. Alcatraz. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. What can they possibly have in common? Amy and Dan don't know, but fans of the 39 Clues series will soon find out...

The first Cahill card series features 56 thoroughly intriguing evidence cards that kids need to hunt down the 39 Clues. The oversize cards (3.25 x 5) are loaded with top-secret Cahill information and intriguing puzzles that unlock the family's secrets. Each pack contains 16 randomly assorted cards, with at least one rare or ultra-rare card per pack.
