Several years ago I heard Martha Stewart say it was okay to display your pumpkins as early as September 1st. Yet it still comes as quite a shock every year when I see the pumpkin displays hit the stores so soon. But yesterday at Sam’s, they had a bazillion pumpkins. And they’re Huge. And so is the price! I was aghast! $8.88! Ack! 
So I resisted.I mean, it is still 94 degrees outside. Seriously. I couldn’t believe people had them in their carts. They’re going to rot.
But then I saw this...
What! It’s not going to rot, its painted terracotta!

Looks just like the right kind of pumpkin to me! It's still to HOT here as well. We would have pumpkin pie on the front porch before Halloween!
